Amanda Stout

Amanda Stout is the Deputy Chief of Staff for the District Department of Transportation (DDOT), after having served as DDOT’s Special Assistant for Economic Development in the Office of the Director. In these roles, she serves as the Department’s point person on a portfolio of real estate development projects, coordinating with partners and stakeholders and emphasizing the role that transportation plays in creating a more accessible and more sustainable city. Amanda has experience working at the intersection of transportation planning, economic development, and public policy in both the public and private sectors. During her four years at the City of Newton, Massachusetts, she advanced long-range planning, served as the Mayor’s liaison to the business community, and led efforts to support women entrepreneurs. She has also worked for Parsons Brickerhoff (now WSP), STV Incorporated, Sasaki Associates, and for the cities of Boston and Somerville, Massachusetts. Amanda holds a bachelor’s degree in history and environmental studies from Williams College, a master’s degree in city planning and certificate in urban design from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners.
