Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Madye Henson currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Covenant House Greater Washington (CHGW). Through her leadership and staff of over seventy, 72,000 meals are served annually, emergency and transitional housing provide safe residence to 140 youth and their children each night, over 400 youth are provided education, workforce readiness, and career placement. Through Henson’s background and passion for education CHGW sent 31 primarily first-generation youth to college last year.
Previously, Henson served as Deputy Superintendent for Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) in Alexandria, VA., President and CEO of HandsOn Greater DC Cares, and Vice President, Community Impact Development with United Way Worldwide. Before moving to the nonprofit arena, she held leadership positions in several major corporations and founded a consulting firm, Strategic Vision, where she served Fortune 500, nonprofit, and educational clients.
