Joy Whitt is a Data and Technology Strategist at The Movement Cooperative, a national progressive tech organization. Before that, she worked as an Economic Intelligence Analyst at the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) for 3 years. She also organizes civic Hackathons with various tech inclusive groups including Tech, Rebalanced (formerly Tech Lady Hackathon) in Washington, DC.  In 2015, Joy transitioned into a career in tech by learning to code with organizations and individuals committed to teaching coding and programming to women and people of color.
